Andrey V. Novikov-Borodin graduated from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (the State Technical University) in 1985 with an honour diploma and just was registered as a post-graduate student. During 1985-1988 he worked for the thesis on the topic "Design and Circuit Methods for Operation Stability Increasing of LSIC's (Large Scale Integrated Circuit's) Storages" and have got a Candidate of Science degree in 1989. From 1988 he continued his scientific activity in an Institute for Nuclear Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences (INR RAS) as a scientific worker, and became a Head of the Beam diagnostic group at the Linear accelerator department in 1993. He is a specialist in the fields of microelectronics, SHF-electronics, the network diagnostic systems and accelerator technique. He have 35 scientific papers: 31 of them have been published in the domestic and international scientific journals and conference proceedings, there is one patient in it.During his scientific activity at Moscow Engineering Physics Institute from 1985 to 1988 he has investigated the electromagnetic field propagation on the transmission lines inside the LSIC, the mutual elements influence and have created some methods of the LSIC's operation stability increasing including the penetrating radiation influence.He took part in ICFA-Seminar on "Future Perspectives in High Energy Physics" at DESY, Hamburg, May, 1993, delivered the reports of his work ("New Moscow Meson Factory Beam System Instrumentation") during visits at LAMPF (the Los-Alamos National Laboratory, Los-Alamos, New Mexico, USA) in 1994 and at TRIUMF (the Canada's National Meson Facility, Vancouver, B.C.) in 1995 and 1997.There were developed a number of new electronic devices and installations for the linear accelerator of the Moscow meson factory (MMF) during his work in INR RAS from 1988 to 1995. In particular there are a fast pulsed beam chopper for 750 (400) keV proton beam and a precise phase detector. The first one is an indispensable installation for commissioning, operation of the MMF linac, the physic's experiment security, another one is the main unit for the realization of the time-of-flight measurements for such procedures as delta-T, the phase scan procedure, absolute energy measurements . Now there are developed new devices such as a stripline beam position monitor, wall-current monitor, fast multi-wire scanners and other devices. During my TRIUMF visit he has worked on creating the new diagnostic equipment for TRIUMF. It was the energy measurement system with pick-ups (1995), the picoampere wide band pre-amplifier for ISAC wire scanners (1997). From January 1994 according with the decision of the Russian Government and on a base of the competition at Russian Academy of Sciences I have got a scholarship as a talented young Russian scientist.01.01.2000
